Look well to the spine for the cause of disease.

Now that the obvious stress of the holidays are over, our daily lives will go back to being nice and rosy, right?  WRONG!

Your worries of job security, traffic congestion, and the on-going difficulties of having a household all create Stress.

According to a recent survey by the American Psychology Association, 44% of Americans are concerned about their daily stress levels.   Here are some Q & A about stress:

Are There Different Kinds of Stress?

Physical stress for example is trauma from a car accident or sports injury.

Emotional stress is our reaction to a physical stress.  One person’s response to criticism (a physical stress) may be defensive, while another might be unresponsive.

Effects of Emotional Stress?

In response to these daily strains, your body automatically increases blood pressure to your muscles at low amounts that seem “normal".  But when these effects occur day after day, the body is unable to repel these detrimental effects and will begin to show signs such as constant fatigue, weakened immune system and irritability with family and friends.  At this point, muscles remain tense, joints feel stiff, headaches occur and one’s general posture becomes bent forward.

Is one' Health effected by Stress?

When the muscles of the body experience constant tension, the spine becomes bent forward putting pressure on the discs between the spinal bones.  This can cause the disc to herniate, pinching the nerves which regulate all functions of the body.  Neurologists have linked this disorder to cardiovascular disease, infertility, arthritis and other organ dysfunctions.

Chiropractic Treatment helps?

Chiropractic works to return the spinal positioning to a closer normal.  This allows the muscles to relax, which returns the nerves, then organs, to their normal state of function. Chiropractors, upon a proper assessment, can also recommend other relief through massage, yoga and other therapies that may help manage your response to stress.

Chiropractors do not have divine powers, nor can we take away the stress in your life.  However, through spinal adjustments, Chiropractors return the body to a normal state of health.  This builds up tolerance against future stress we will ALWAYS experience in your daily lives.

I have seen the doctors of Euclid Chiropractic for a few months now. Thank you for clearing this up, and making my life peaceful and less painful.
